Open houses aren’t just about showcasing a property - they’re also a wonderful way to connect with people. While we’re promoting the sale of a home, we often have the chance to meet great neighbors and future clients.
One memorable story goes back to the early 90’s. One of my agents was hosting an open house and met a lovely couple who lived just a few doors down on the same street. They were interested in selling, but the timing wasn’t right, they needed to wait a couple of years.
That didn’t stop the relationship from growing. My agent sold the open house property and we kept in touch with the couple. Remember, this was before email, so staying connected meant personally dropping off listings and other literature at their door and sending my Market Watch newsletter by snail mail (which we still do)!
